Area Nightclub

A trendy nightspot and one of the current hot spots in Hollywood, the Area Nightclub can be found at 643 N. La Cienega Boulevard.  Once upon a time, this club was known as “Prey” and back in the day "The Gate".   Since then, however, it has been completely remodeled and features an entirely new look with a brighter and definitely more modern look.

Events

Although scheduled events such as Halloween or New Year’s Eve parties are few and far between, this does not stop people from planning their own celebrations here from birthday parties to a romantic rendezvous.  The music is presented by DJs who play soul, rap, and funk.  The paparazzi are usually present and just waiting for a chance to snap a few photos of the current celebrities visiting the club.

Atmosphere

A blend of the sixties with modern strokes of decor, this nightclub features wall designs from decades ago and LED lighting that sits above the dance floor.  Low white leather sofas and banquettes set the stage for intimate conversations.  The nightclub poses an open and airy feel for guests with retractable glass doors, brightly colored floors of white and caramel terrazzo, and open and streamlined areas.

The club includes two bars and premium bottle services dished up by waitresses decked out with thigh high patent leather white boots.  Prices for drinks are a bit on the expensive side, but no more so than those served in other nightclubs in the city.  The nightclub is situated near popular restaurants so it makes a nice stopping place for after dinner fun. 

An outdoor patio lends itself to an intimate atmosphere and the chance to catch a smoke or a cool breeze.  Although this venue certainly does get crowded, it’s a favorite spot for many celebrities.  VIP tables are available in this club where the atmosphere is relaxed and the music is good for dancing on the spacious dance floor. 

Practical Information

Entrance is typically by guest list only, but even this doesn’t guarantee that you won’t end up waiting in line.  However, your chances of getting in are enhanced by making bottle service reservations or having good connections.

Valid identification is required to prove that guests are at least 21 years of age.  The dress code suggests upscale club, trendy, or upscale casual.

Hours are 10:00 pm until 2:00 am on Mondays, Wednesdays through Saturdays.  On Fridays, the club opens a half hour early at 9:30 pm.
