Hyde Lounge
For an intimate evening at one of the area’s glamorous nightclubs, visit the Hyde Lounge at 8029 West Sunset Boulevard. This popular nightspot for many celebrities features a British taste in a small yet elegant setting. The red carpet and velvet ropes leading up to the entrance door signals that this is an exclusive nightclub with very limited seating. Nonetheless, hopefuls still clamor to get in by any means they can, including climbing over the ropes. Typically, a few individuals not on the reservation list are admitted.
Events
The Hyde Lounge features a rotating set of DJs throughout the night. The music is presented from a booth with expensive technical equipment and a Mac-mixing machine. The emphasis is always on rock.
Atmosphere
Intimate and chic are the words that most clearly describes this entertainment venue. A single room set aglow with suspended golden lights features deluxe leather couches, red cushioned ottomans, rich wooden tables, vaulted ceilings, and highly polished wooden walls in elegant display. The back area is much smaller, houses the bar, and is set aside for those guests without reservations. Moreover, this section features Gothic- style wallpaper and lots of black.
Considered to be on the A list of places to go for a night of fun, the Hyde Lounge is the brilliant creation of Sam Nazarian and Brent Bolthouse (SBE). This fact is clearly hidden behind the simple stone facade and plain door that sits out front.
Delicacies gleaned from Asian menus and offered as the perfect bar food or small plate menu are featured for the hungry guests in the club. Modern versions of old-fashioned cocktails are rumored to be tasty and addictive. The prices are a bit expensive, but nothing out of the ordinary for Hollywood.
Practical Information
The Hyde Lounge is open daily from 9:00 pm until 2:00 am. Valet parking is available for the fortunate visitors who are able to gain entrance. Limited street parking can be found as well if you are early enough. This nightclub favorite of the celebrities accommodates 100 guests.
The door policy is as strict as they come and this is where reservations are a real plus. If you plan to gain entrance without a reservation, get in line before the sun sets in order to have a viable chance of spending your evening there. The dress code doesn't require dressy and upscale, though most dress this way in attendance.
No cover charge is required to gain admittance. Drinks typically start at $12 and go up from there.
