Located at 4633 Hollywood Boulevard, Wacko is an unusual store that carries stationary, gifts, toys, books, art, party items, and more. In fact, despite the ordinary sounding types of merchandise sold here, there is nothing ordinary about them at all. The store’s popularity has increased as word of its unique and interesting merchandise has spread.
An extensive selection of the unusual and hard to find items is always available. It isn’t just about finding a particular item in the store; it’s about finding a particular item that few other stores carry. You might find a bottle of bubble bath to give as a gift within the inner regions of Wacko, but it is going to be a bottle of bubble bath that isn’t easily forgotten. The name on the label, the picture on the label, or both of these items are all facets of the merchandise that sets it apart from the same old, same old stuff that is sold elsewhere.
From lava lamps to incense to unusual artwork to odd books to shower curtains with weird designs, Wacko has a bit of the unusual in every corner. If you are looking for an unusual gift that no one else will be bringing to the party, this is probably the place to go look for it. If it’s weird, trendy, funky, cool, or hip, it’s bound to be found at Wacko.
Although it has been around for decades, Wacko has only been in this location since 1996. The staff is well-trained to be knowledgeable about the store’s merchandise. Prices are rumored to be high, but the quality of the merchandise is excellent. Next door to the store sits an art gallery that features monthly galas that draw in crowds from all over.
Practical Information
The store is open Monday through Wednesday from 11:00 am until 7:00 pm; Thursday through Saturday from 11:00 am until 9:00 pm; and Sunday from noon until 6:00 pm.
No parking lot is available, so be ready to park at a meter.
